WE DON'T JUST DO DENTISTRY, WE DO CARE.
We have one dentist, one chair, and we care about spending time with you.
Dr John has independently owned and operated private clinics in Yarraville/Seddon over the past 40 years. Thanks to the unwavering support of our patients, we have reached our current patient capacity, which means currently we are not able to accept new patients. This decision ensures we maintain the quality of service our existing patients deserve. We will let you know when we reopen patient intake.
Emergency/urgent appointments are for existing patients ONLY.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.
Patients return to us and recommend us to family and friends and new patients want to come to us because:
We stick to and do dental problem solving well. We are one of the smallest dental clinics in the western suburbs but our patients come the local suburbs as well as further afield and regional Victoria to see Dr John. You receive the exclusive attention of, and build a rapport with, one dentist who performs your dental treatment*.
We're professional and friendly and take pride in our customer service. We value what we do, the quality of our work and materials/services (suppliers) we use.
We enjoy welcoming new patients to our clinic however, currently we are NOT onboarding new patients; we'll advise when new patient bookings open again.
*some treatment may require a referral to a specialist provider (at additional cost to the patient).
Why is a six monthly check up (periodic exam) so important?
Regular dental check ups are like key medical screenings and health checks. Regular check ups and preventive treatment can eliminate, or at least reduce, the eventual and inevitable cost of major treatment. Some people forget to make the appointment themselves, or to act on our recall reminders, that's why we make it our business to secure your next check up before you leave the clinic. It's set and forget; at least until we call to confirm your upcoming appointment.
Our vision: To support you to achieve good oral health and wellbeing.
Our mission: To keep our loyal patients, to warmly welcome new ones (when capacity allows, see above) and to exceed your expectations by ensuring you are treated respectfully, compassionately and professionally, as well as with a good dose of humour.
You don't have to brush all your teeth; just those you want to keep. Well, not exactly ...
Regardless whether it's been six months, a year or even longer since you've seen a dentist (or you've never seen one) we won't judge you, we'll listen to you. Our aim is to help you to better manage your dental health. At your initial appointment we ask you to complete a new patient history form. One of the questions you're asked is: 'Does dental treatment make you nervous?'. Some people tick 'not at all', 'slightly' or 'moderately'. Others don't hold back; they go with 'extremely' and even 'arrghhh'. Yes, there's an 'arrghhh' box.
Why is it important to know whether a patient is anxious?
Because your appointment times can be tailored to ease you into dental treatment, i.e we prefer to break up treatment into several visits, and to make your visit as stress-free as possible. This is as important for adults as it is for children. In the case of children, parents are encouraged to use the resources of the Australian Dental Association's website, which provides suggestions on how to prepare your children for their dental visit/treatment. Alternatively, arrange to come in with your child for an informal meet and greet. You can even telephone us for tips or children's story book ideas on the subject.
You're encouraged to ask questions to ensure you understand your treatment options. Our aim is to be realistic about results of dental treatment in order to help you get your teeth into good, better, or even the best condition they can be in. That way you hold onto your own teeth longer.
The clinic is accessible by car, with parking in surrounding streets; we're located within walking distance to/from the Yarraville and Seddon railway stations, and bus services operate in the area as well.
